Libraries for Life-Long Learning
At Huntingtower School, our libraries are central to student life. Both the Junior School Library and the Senior School Library are vibrant, welcoming spaces where curiosity is sparked and ideas are explored. Our team of qualified library professionals empower students to discover a world of knowledge.
Our Libraries
Huntingtower is the home of two dynamic library spaces, each designed to meet the needs of our students at every stage of learning.
Junior Library
Our Junior Library (Prep - Year 6) reflects the age and needs of the students it serves. A warm and engaging space that will nurture a love of reading while supporting growth in confidence and independence. The Junior Library is open and expansive, offering an alternate learning space for incursions and interactive activities.
Senior Library
The Senior Library is an engaging and bustling hub of the school. It supports curriculum and co-curricular across Year 7 - 12. Teacher librarians, together with Library technicians, design and deliver activities to reinforce classroom teaching and learning across a range of subject areas.
A Place to Read, Connect & Belong
Students regularly use the Senior Library to:
- extend their reading experience through Reading Challenges, staff recommendations, or independent browsing.
- work collaboratively with classmates.
- study independently.
- complete calming activities such as puzzles, mindful colouring, and more.
- play group games such as Chess, Banangrams, Uno, and more.
The Senior Library also hosts various literary events and programs, such as the Middle Years Wider Reading Program, regular Book Clubs, Book Month celebrations in August, and occasional guest authors.
Senior Library Hours
The Senior Library is open every school day.
Monday - Thursday: 8am to 6pm
Friday: 8am to 5pm
