Growing Through Sport

At Huntingtower, we support and inspire all students to be the very best they can be and always reinforce a positive culture of kindness and love in everything they do. This is emphasised by the inclusion of compulsory Sport from Prep to 12.

All students participate in intraschool House events and interschool sport, with quality training and coaching provided. Huntingtower is a member of the Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne (EISM) which provides interschool competition in 18 different sports.

Junior School Sport

Our sporting program in the Junior School (Prep to Year 6) provides students the opportunity to compete in House Sport Carnivals and interschool competitions. All students participate, demonstrating sportsmanship and striving to perform at their personal best.

Term 2 Winter Sport

• NFL Flag Football • Representative Cross Country • Soccer • House Cross Country Carnival

Term 3 Winter Sport

• HT Ball Games Carnival • Netball • Basketball • Athletics

Term 4 Summer Sport

• Intensive Swim Program • Athletics • Tennis Hot Shots • House Swim Carnival

Senior School Sport

Huntingtower School is a member of Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne (EISM) which offers our students the opportunity to participate in weekly inter-school sporting competitions against other member schools in the region. 

Training sessions occur in Period 6 or directly after school. Competitions occur during the school day. 

EISM inter-school sports is open to all students, allowing them to explore and take part in a diverse range of sports. 

Sports Awards

Huntingtower Sports Awards are presented to students who perform at an outstanding level in school and inter-school sport and who demonstrate commitment and leadership in Sport. Award categories include:

  • Year 7 - Best and Fairest
  • Year 8 & 9 - Best and Fairest, Coaches Award
  • Year 10 to 12 - Certificate of Excellence
  • Year 11 to 12 - Colours
  • Year 12 - Honours Pockets
  • B Team participants - Best and Fairest, Coaches Award

These awards seek to acknowledge student participation, leadership, attitude commitment and overall excellence.
