Year 7 & 8 Program

We place great importance on ensuring every student feels confident, connected and supported from their very first day. During the first week of secondary school, students will: • Get to know their peers and teachers with fun games • Engaging activities in Science, Music, Food Technology and Physical Educations • Meet the Wellbeing team and their services • Building friendships in their House group • Connect with the Year 12 student leaders

This camp is an exciting milestone in every student's Huntingtower journey. Meeting up with their buddies in Lorne, Year 7 students spend a day with their Year 12 House leaders, building connections, participating in team activities and beginning the friendships that will support them throughout the year. Students then head to Anglesea where they continue to embrace new friendships and strengthen confidence, resilience and teamwork by participating in outdoor experiences. This memorable camp will offer growth and the discovery of belonging in a caring community.

Huntingtower understands that wellbeing is fundamental to a child achieving his or her potential. We want all of our students to be happy, confident and resilient so that they can achieve positive learning outcomes and lead purposeful and rewarding lives. Wellbeing Specialists include the Counsellor, Psychologist and Director of Wellbeing. They liaise closely with Year Level Coordinators to ensure that the emotional, social and academic needs of each individual student are well supported.

Students are encourage to participate in music, Tournament of the Minds, sport clubs, residential programs and community activities, which helps them develop confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging.
