Year 9 Program

Strive to be the best version of yourself

Year 9 is a significant year in the Huntingtower journey, offering students opportunities to challenge themselves through residential and international experiences, leadership development and greater responsibility for their learning. These experiences help students develop independence, empathy and a broader understanding of the world around them.

Year 9 at Huntingtower is a unique year where students are immersed in a range of educational experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. It is a year that is physical, challenging, and yes, sometimes chaotic, however, students will learn new and different perspectives if they are willing to embrace a little discomfort.

Duke of Edinburgh

Students undertake the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award, challenging themselves through voluntary service, physical recreation, skill development and an adventurous journey. Participants set their own goals and commit to at least one hour each week in each area over a minimum of three months, building resilience, independence and confidence along the way.

Wellbeing

Mindfulness Mondays and Wellbeing Wednesdays encourage students to pause, unplug and focus on the present moment. By setting aside digital devices and engaging in mindfulness and reflection, students strengthen emotional regulation, improve focus and memory, and develop practical strategies for managing stress and supporting their overall wellbeing.
