Write A Book In A Day
Recently, our Director of Student Communication & Engagement, Mr McDonald, coordinated more than 120 students on the Huntingtower mid-term break to take part in the Write a Book in a Day competition, combining creativity and collaboration for an important cause.
Twelve teams comprising students from Years 7 to 12 received their unique prompts at 8.00am. They then spent the next 12 hours writing, illustrating and producing their original books across the MYC and Library before the 8.00pm deadline.
All 12 teams successfully submitted their completed books and, together, raised almost $4,000 for The Kids’ Cancer Project. Congratulations to every student who participated in this inspiring day of storytelling, teamwork and fundraising!
A huge thank you to our teachers, who generously gave up their mid-term break to supervise and support the students throughout the day. Special thanks also go to our Library staff for their work organising the competition.
Huntingtower would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and emerging and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
