Tournament of Minds
Tournament of Minds (TOM) is an international problem solving program that challenges teams of students to think creatively, work collaboratively and develop innovative solutions to complex, open ended problems.
Students select a challenge from one of four disciplines: The Arts, STEM, Language Literature or Social Sciences. Working as a team, they are required to research, problem solve and develop an original response before presenting their solution. The experience develops creative and critical thinking alongside important skills in collaboration, communication, time management and resilience.
Last weekend, Huntingtower students from both the Junior and Senior Schools represented the School in the Tournament of Minds competition on Saturday and Sunday. It was wonderful to see our students embracing the challenge, sharing ideas and working together to present their solutions.
Congratulations to all students who participated and particularly to our STEM team, who won their division and will now progress to the State Finals.
Huntingtower would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and emerging and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
